Selling & Payout Policy

what this covers
This policy covers selling your own Rust items through RIVEN, operated by TRAFFIXORA OÜ("Company", "we", "us"). It sits alongside the Terms, Payment Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy. RIVEN acts as an intermediary between you and the buyer. We do not buy your item from you and we never take ownership of it.
Coaching sold through RIVEN Academy is a different arrangement on different terms — a different commission, and earnings that are not held in your wallet. See sections 7 and 8 of the Terms and the Coach Terms.
before you can list
You need a RIVEN account with your Steam ID and your Steam trade URL saved on your account page. Your Steam inventory must be public — the sell page reads it directly to show what you own, and an inventory it cannot read looks empty. Only tradable Rust items can be listed.
setting the price and our commission
You set the asking price in US dollars — the currency prices and balances are held in, whichever currency you have the site displayed in; the sell form quotes your proceeds as an exact dollar figure for that reason. RIVEN takes a commission of 10% of that price, and the remaining 90% is what you receive when the item sells. Both figures are calculated and stored when the listing is created, and shown to you on the sell form before you confirm — the amount you are quoted there is the amount you are credited.
There is no listing fee, no monthly fee, and no charge for cancelling a listing that has not sold. The commission is only ever taken out of a completed sale.
custody: how the item gets to the buyer
RIVEN uses custody selling. When you confirm a listing we open a deposit for the item with our marketplace partner so that the item moves out of your Steam inventory and is held by us until it sells. The listing is created immediately, but it is created in an awaiting deposit state and it is not on sale yet.
A listing goes on the shelf only once that deposit is confirmed received. That confirmation is triggered by our operations team, not by a timer — nothing in the platform confirms a deposit on a schedule. Until it is confirmed, your item is not visible in the catalogue and cannot be bought. If a deposit fails, the listing is marked failed and nothing is taken from you.
When a buyer buys your listing, the item is sent from custody to the buyer’s Steam account and your listing is marked sold in the same step that pays you.
when you are paid
The moment your listing is marked sold, your 90% share is added to your RIVEN wallet balance and recorded in your wallet history as a sale. There is no approval step between the sale and the credit, and you can spend it on RIVEN straight away.
To withdraw it as cash, each sale is held for 3 days from the moment it is made, so a problem with the trade reported in that time can still be resolved before the money leaves the platform. Your wallet shows the amount on hold and when the next part is released. Money in your wallet from a card top-up or a refund is not withdrawable — see section 6.
what you can withdraw
Your wallet holds one balance but two kinds of money. Only what you have earned from sales can be paid out in cash; credits bought by card top-up are for spending on the platform. The withdraw form therefore offers your withdrawable figure — everything your sales have earned once each sale is 3 days old, less every payout you have already requested or been paid — rather than your whole balance, and a request above that figure is refused. Refunds of failed orders are credit too, not cash.
identity verification and your payout details
Before a payout can be requested you must complete verification at /kyc: your full legal name, a photograph of a government-issued identity document, your residential address, and the bank account (IBAN) in your own name that the money is sent to. Payouts are made by manual bank transfer only — never to a card, PayPal, Wise, a crypto wallet or any other method. This is where you tell us where to send the money; there is no separate step.
We store only what we need to pay you: the IBAN of your bank account. Your identity document is uploaded to private storage that is not readable from the internet, and is only ever served back through an authenticated request. See the Privacy Policy.
Verification is reviewed by a person and must be approved before any payout is possible. Once approved you can change your payout destination at any time from /kyc without re-verifying your identity. A payout is always sent to the destination on file at the moment it is processed, and only to the verified account holder.
requesting a payout
You request a payout from your wallet. Each payout must be at least $20. The amount is taken off your balance and reserved as soon as you request it, and a payout record is opened. Our operations team then sends the money by bank transfer to your recorded bank account and marks the payout paid, recording the bank transfer reference against it; payouts are typically processed within a few business days. Nothing is released automatically — every payout is made by a person.
If a payout is refused, the reserved amount is returned to your wallet balance in full. We may refuse, delay or reverse a payout where verification is incomplete or where we reasonably suspect fraud, money laundering, or a breach of the Terms, and we may ask for further documents before releasing one.
RIVEN does not provide services to residents of Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Syria or Cuba. That is checked when an account is created or signed in to, and checked again every time a payout is requested; where it applies, no funds are released.
status of this deployment
Item custody on this deployment runs in simulation. When you list an item, no Steam trade offer is actually sent to you, no item leaves your inventory, and nothing is really held by us; the same applies to the delivery step when a listing sells. Card charging is off for the same reason — see section 2 of the Payment Policy.
We would rather say this plainly than describe a custody chain that is not yet moving real items. This section will be rewritten when live trading is switched on.
cancelling, and items we will not list
There is no self-service cancel button. A listing that has not been confirmed into custody is withdrawn by hand on request — ask us through /contact. A listing that has sold cannot be cancelled: the item has already gone to the buyer.
We may refuse or remove any listing at our discretion, including items that are not tradable, items subject to a Steam trade restriction, and items we reasonably believe are not yours to sell.
your own earnings
You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your own earnings from selling through RIVEN.
