If you want the whole route an order takes rather than a single answer, read how RIVEN works. Anything not answered here goes to the contact form.
What does RIVEN sell?
Rust skins — weapon skins, tools, armour and deployables. We do not own the items listed: RIVEN aggregates live listings from a partner marketplace network into one catalog and acts as the facilitator of the trade. RIVEN is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve, and Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios.
What currency are prices in?
Prices and wallet balances are held in US dollars, but you pay in the currency you choose: a top-up can be paid in euros or in US dollars. A euro top-up is charged in euros and credited to your wallet in dollars at the European Central Bank’s reference rate for the day, with no margin added; both figures are shown before you confirm. The currency control in the header sets what the site reads in, and a converted figure is marked with a “≈”.
How do I sign in?
Two ways: your Steam account, or a one-time code sent to your email address. There are no passwords in the normal flow. Email codes are temporarily unavailable while our mail provider is being set up — the sign-in form will tell you the code could not be sent rather than pretending it was. Use Steam sign-in in the meantime.
Is RIVEN available everywhere?
Almost. RIVEN does not provide services to residents of Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Syria or Cuba. The site is not served to connections from those countries, accounts are not opened for email addresses registered there, card payments with a billing country among them are refused, coach applications declaring one of them are refused, and the check is repeated at every payout.
How do I pay for a skin?
From your RIVEN wallet. The wallet holds a prepaid balance in USD credits; checkout debits that balance and never makes a fresh card charge. Credits you buy are for purchases on the platform and are not cashable — separate from money you earn selling your own items, which is withdrawable.
How do I add credits to my wallet?
Through the top-up form under dashboard → wallet, in euros or US dollars — whichever you choose — between 1 and 20,000 per top-up, in whole units. Top-ups are paused for now: the form is switched off and no card is charged. An existing balance can still be spent on items and Academy sessions.
Do you store my card number?
No. Card details are never persisted on RIVEN's servers. The billing address you type can be remembered in your own browser to save re-typing it, and only if you have allowed preference storage in the cookie banner.
Do I need a Steam trade URL?
Yes, to receive a skin. Set it under dashboard → account. Checkout warns you when it is missing instead of taking the order and failing later. Academy coaching needs no trade URL — nothing is traded.
How long does delivery take?
The seller sends the item straight to your Steam as a trade offer. The item page shows that seller's average hand-over time, which is their track record rather than a promise. A seller has at most 7 days.
What does my Steam account need?
A public inventory and Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator switched on, so you can receive trade offers. Without them the seller cannot send the item, and the purchase is refunded to your wallet.
What happens if the trade fails?
The money comes back on its own. An item that cannot be bought at checkout is refunded to your wallet straight away. If the seller does not send in time, or the trade offer expires before you accept it, the order is checked every 10 minutes and the price is returned to your wallet automatically, with an email. “Refresh delivery status” on the order page runs the same check on demand.
Can I cancel an order?
In the window after you place it and before the Steam trade offer goes out, yes — but not by yourself: there is no cancel button on the order page. Ask through the contact form, which reaches our operations team directly, and we action it and return the full amount to your wallet. Once a trade offer has been sent and accepted the order is complete and cannot be cancelled.
Do refunds go back to my card?
No. Refunds are credited to your wallet as USD credits, which you can spend on anything on the platform. Coaching bookings are held in escrow: an unconfirmed or coach-cancelled 1-on-1 is refunded to your wallet in full automatically. The one exception is unspent credits from a top-up: those can be refunded on request within 14 days, subject to fraud and anti-money-laundering checks, and are returned to the original card where the law requires it — though with card charging switched off no card payment has been taken to send back. Full detail in the refund & cancellation policy.
Can I sell my own skins?
Yes. The sell page reads your real Steam inventory, so you need a linked Steam account and a trade URL first. You keep the sale price less a 10% platform commission, credited to your wallet. It can be withdrawn by bank transfer 3 days after the sale, in payouts of at least $20.
Can I coach on RIVEN, and how is that decided?
Apply at the coach application: a few short steps about you, your Rust experience, how you coach, your bank details and a government ID, and acceptance of the Coach Terms. It arrives pending and a person reads it — there is no automated test and no score to pass. We may approve it, reject it, or suspend a coach later.
How does a coach get paid?
You keep 80% of each coaching sale; RIVEN keeps 20%. That is a different rate from the 10% commission on skin sales. Coaching earnings sit against your coach file rather than in your wallet and become payable once a session is confirmed or released from escrow. You request a withdrawal from your coach console (minimum €50); it is paid by manual bank transfer only, after a person reviews it, normally within 5 working days.
What do I have to provide to withdraw money?
Identity verification: your full legal name, a photo of a government-issued ID (e.g. a passport), your residential address, and the IBAN of a bank account in your own name — payouts are made by bank transfer only. Requests are reviewed and must be approved before a payout is released, and we may ask for more documents where verification is incomplete.
Will you email me marketing?
No. RIVEN operates no mailing list and sends no marketing email. The only mail the product sends is transactional — a sign-in code, or an update about an order you placed.
Can I get a copy of my data, or delete my account?
Both, and without asking anyone. Under dashboard → account you can download everything we hold on you as a JSON file, and delete your account — which also removes the identity document from any verification you submitted. Your rights are set out in the privacy policy.
What cookies do you set?
Only what is needed to run the marketplace, plus exactly one optional thing: a preference that remembers your billing address in your own browser so you do not retype it. There is no third-party advertising or tracking cookie on RIVEN at all. The banner's Manage panel carries a locked-on Necessary toggle and that one Preference toggle, and you can change it whenever you like with “Manage cookies” in the footer. See the cookie policy.
