Electricity 101: Auto Turrets That Actually Fire
Half of solo bases leave their turrets unpowered at night. Run this five-point check so your auto-turret defense is always live.

An auto turret that runs out of power at 3am is just a loot pinata. Before you log off, run the checklist: (1) Is my battery big enough for overnight draw? (2) Does my solar actually recharge it faster than the turrets drain it during the day? (3) Are the turrets on a switch I can kill so I do not get shot by my own base? (4) Is the authorization list correct so teammates do not trip it? (5) Is there a root combiner so one cut wire does not kill the whole loop?
Most unpowered turrets fail two or three of these. Size your battery for the night, wire a clean power loop, and your turrets stay live while you sleep. That is the difference between waking up raided and waking up safe.
Wire for failure, not for the perfect case. Keep the branch that feeds your turrets separate from the one feeding lights, furnaces and anything else you might add later, so a new toy cannot quietly starve your defence. Label your switches. Put the battery somewhere a raider reaching your first wall cannot immediately shoot.
Then test it the only way that counts: turn the solar input off, leave the base loaded overnight, and check in the morning whether the turrets are still up. A power system you have not watched survive a night is a guess.
